In the nation’s capital, temperatures will be 35 C, but it will feel closer to 43 when factoring in the humidity. A chance of showers is possible in the late afternoon, forecasters from Environment Canada said.

“Tuesday will mark the peak of this heat event,” warn meteorologists. “Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category.” There is little relief in temperatures, as it will be 20 C on Tuesday and Wednesday overnight.
