The extreme heat is prompting some Durham municipalities to issue burn bans. The Township of Uxbridge issued an Open Air Fire Ban at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14. They say they appreciate people’s cooperation to help keep the community safe and reduce fire-related emergencies.

Brock Township also issued a burn ban. It’s in effect until further notice. A statement on Facebook says it means any type of burning in the township is prohibited.
