Hà ́pital Ste-Anne has temporarily closed due to an air cooling system malfunction, suspending all services until repairs are completed. Photo courtesy Google Maps. Southern Health-Santé Sud says it hopes to reopen Hà ́pital Ste-Anne sometime next week after a cooling system malfunction and refrigerant leak forced the evacuation of patients and the temporary closure of the facility.
The hospital closed July 13 after its air cooling system could no longer maintain safe indoor temperatures during Manitoba's recent stretch of extreme heat. Officials said a subsequent freon leak made it necessary to fully evacuate the site and suspend all inpatient, outpatient, emergency and diagnostic services.
