Joliet Fire Department extinguishes fire in vacant barn

The Joliet Fire Department was called to fight a fire in a vacant barn Saturday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

The Joliet Fire Department responded to a barn fire Saturday afternoon. While no one was injured, the structure was a total loss. The Joliet Fire Department said in a release that crews were called to the scene in the 12300 block of County Line Road at 1:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a structure fire.

Crews reportedly arrived within two minutes of the call and found “a large barn fully involved in fire.” According to the Joliet Fire Department, crews from stations 7, 8, 9, and 10 attacked the fire from the outside and were able to extinguish it before it could spread to adjacent structures, but the barn was a total loss. The building was vacant and no injuries were suffered during the blaze.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
