Joliet mayor to give State of the City speech in August

Annual State of the City speech is the Joliet Chamber's 'best-attended luncheon.'

Joliet Mayor Terry D’Arcy will give the annual State of the City speech on Aug. 27. The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced the date in its July newsletter. The chamber hosts the State of the City speech each year at a luncheon.

The event is the organization’s “best-attended luncheon, bringing together business leaders, elected officials, community partners, and residents for an inside look at the progress, priorities, and future of the city of Joliet,” the chamber newsletter stated. The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. and will be at the Renaissance Center in downtown Joliet. The cost for the event is $50 for members and $60 for non-members.

Registration can be done on the chamber website . Reservations are required and must be made by Aug. 20. “The annual address offers attendees the opportunity to hear directly from the mayor about the initiatives shaping Joliet’s future—from economic development and infrastructure improvements to public safety, neighborhood investment, downtown revitalization, and the projects that continue to position Joliet as a regional leader,“ the newsletter stated.
