KELOWNA, B.C. — The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 115 is demanding justice now after five years has passed since the Kelowna crane collapse tragedy and there’s still no movement on the case. On July 12, 2021, Cailen Vilness, Jared Zook, Eric Stemmer, Patrick Stemmer and Brad Zawislak were killed in the collapse, which is one of the deadliest workplace incidents in B.C. history.

The IUOE states even after all of this time family, friends and colleagues of the victims have been waiting for answers. They still don’t know what happened on that tragic day. As such, IUOE 115 has launched a letter-writing campaign advocating for immediate action from the BC Prosecution Service.
