Police say a knife was presented during the assault
Man in custody after assault on Victoria transit supervisor Published 5:45 pm Friday, July 17, 2026 A man is in custody after an alleged assault on a transit supervisor aboard a bus in downtown Victoria. At around 7:45 p.m. on July 16, the emergency “Call 911” sign was displayed on a BC Transit bus travelling on Douglas Street near Herald Street.
The Victoria Police Department says the sign was first reported as a false alarm, but they were later notified that a transit supervisor had been assaulted and a knife was presented during the assault. VicPD says the suspect left the area on foot. Following an investigation, police located and arrested a suspect, who was found to be in possession of a knife consistent with the description provided by the victim.
The suspect is in custody pending a court appearance on July 20.
