Edmontonians could see, for the second day in a row, smoke plumes in the sky, this time from the south side as crews worked to battle an industrial-area fire on Wednesday evening.

Edmontonians could see, for the second day in a row, smoke plumes in the sky, this time from the south side as crews worked to battle an industrial-area fire on Wednesday evening. A city spokesperson says fire crews responded just before 6 p.m. to an industrial area on 60 Avenue between 95 Street and 97 Street. Edmonton police, EMS and utilities arrived at the scene per protocol but were not needed, the spokesperson added.

As of 7 p.m. Wednesday, six crews remained on scene fighting the fire. The cause is not yet known. No injuries have been reported.
