The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon on Lucas Road.

The driver of a motorcycle found in a ditch in rural Woodstock on Sunday has been flown to a Level 1 trauma center, Woodstock Fire/Rescue District officials said. That driver suffered serious injuries, but they are not considered life-threatening, according to a news release Sunday from department spokesman Alex Vucha. Woodstock Fire/Rescue was called at 12:56 p.m. to the 10100 block of Lucas Road in unincorporated Woodstock for the report of a motorcycle crash.

Crews found the bike in the ditch next to a curve in the road. An adult male rider was found nearby after he was ejected from the motorcycle, Vucha said. The rider was taken by ambulance to the Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital helipad where he was then flown to the trauma center, according to the release.

The crash is being investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office .
