MPP Fedeli Awards 65 Volunteer Service Awards in Nipissing

Fedeli says it is important to recognize those who give back to their community and he hopes that inspires the younger generation

Article content Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, announced that the Ontario government has recognized 65 volunteers in Nipissing who’ve received the 2026 Ontario Volunteer Service Award. This award is given out annually to both adult and youth volunteers for their notable contributions and service to organizations, including non-profits, hospitals, community centres, libraries, schools and community associations. “Volunteers are a vital part of our community and touch our lives in meaningful ways.

Adults are recognized by the length of time they’ve volunteered with one organization, ranging from five to 65 years of continuous service.

Youth (24 years old and under) are recognized for two or more years of continuous service. The deadline to nominate someone is November 15 of each year. Nominations received after the deadline will be considered in the following year.
