Multi-day heat wave expected to settle over North Bay

Temperatures are expected to reach between 30C to 37C with humidex levels of 38C to 45C.

Article content North Bay and Area residents are being urged to take precautions as a multi-day heat warning settles over the region. Environment Canada is forecasting several days of high temperatures and humid conditions that could pose health risks especially for seniors, young children and those working outdoors. Recommended Videos Environment Canada issued a heat warning for North Bay, Powassan and Mattawa beginning today through to Wednesday evening or Thursday.

Temperatures are expected to reach between 30C to 37C with humidex levels of 38C to 45C. “Tuesday will mark the peak of this heat event. Maximum temperatures on Tuesday near 37C are expected for some areas over southwestern Ontario, around the Greater Golden Horseshoe and eastern Ontario,” according to Environment Canada. “Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category.”
