The NBPS congratulated Constable Mills on this achievement, as she begins her career as a police officer serving the community of North Bay

Article content The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) proudly welcomed Constable Mackenzie Mills as the newest sworn police officer during a formal swearing-in ceremony held on July 8, 2026 at North Bay City Hall. The ceremony marked an important milestone in Constable Mills’ policing career as she took the Oath of Office, officially committing to serve and protect the residents of North Bay. Recommended Videos Constable Mills completed the Police Foundations Program at Canadore College in 2014 before earning a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminal Justice from Nipissing University in 2017.

Prior to joining the North Bay Police Service, she worked in community-focused roles with the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario and the Nipissing District Housing Corporation, while also volunteering with organizations including the North Bay Humane Society and The Gathering Place. In 2025, Constable Mills joined the NBPS as a Part-Time Special Constable. She was appointed as a Recruit Cadet-in-Training in March 2026 and successfully completed her training at the Ontario Police College in June 2026.

“We have had the privilege of working alongside Constable Mills during her time as one of our Special Constables. Over the past year, she has earned the respect of her colleagues through her professionalism, positive attitude and unwavering commitment to serving both our members and our community,” said Acting Deputy Chief Jeff Warner. “We are proud to officially welcome Mackenzie as a Constable with the North Bay Police Service, and we look forward to watching her continue to grow throughout her career.”
