North Okanagan athletes, officials set for summer games in Kelowna Published 8:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2026 Vernon’s neighbours to the south are set to welcome the province again. And invited to the party are 59 North Okanagan athletes, coaches and officials. Kelowna hosts the BC Summer Games July 22-26, marking the fourth time K-town has hosted the event.

The Games were also held in the Central Okanagan in 1980, 1994, and 2008. “The BC Winter and BC Summer Games are British Columbia’s biennial celebration of sport and community, bringing together British Columbia’s best emerging high performance athletes, trained coaches, and certified officials for four days of competition,” said Games officials on the organization’s website. “The event provides an opportunity for the development of athletes, coaches, and officials in preparation for higher levels of competition, and the multi-sport environment helps promote interest and participation in sport and activity, individual achievement, and community development.”
