One week left to win a car, help kids Giving kids a safe space In just one week, Ginny Becker will make the phone call she looks forward to every year, telling one lucky person they’ve won the Child & Youth Advocacy Centre of Kelowna’s annual summer car raffle. This year’s grand prize is a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan 4MOTION, generously donated by Lift Auto Group and CSN Collision Centres. Because the vehicle was donated, 100 per cent of ticket proceeds will go directly to the Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) and its vital work supporting children and youth who have experienced child abuse and neglect.

Last year alone, the CYAC supported 316 children, along with their siblings and safe caregivers, through coordinated wrap-around support services. As a community- and grant-funded organization, every raffle ticket purchased helps the CYAC ensure children in our community have a safe space to speak their truth and a team working together to help them heal. “Every year, that winning call is such a special moment,” says Becker, the centre’s CEO.

“In six years of car raffles, every winner has been someone right here in the Okanagan, so this year, it could be you! But whether you win the vehicle or not, your ticket helps ensure children in our community have access to the support they need when they need it most.” With only 3,125 tickets available, the raffle offers a chance to win a great vehicle while making a meaningful difference close to home.

The winning ticket will be drawn at noon on July 21. Tickets are one for $25 or five for $100. They can be purchased here.

In addition to Lift Auto Group and CSN Collision, generous sponsors of the raffle include Acera Insurance, AkzoNobel, BASF, Colour Compassion Corporation, Jim Pattison Lease, and Lawson Lundell LLP. To learn more about the CYAC, please go to CYACkelowna.com If you suspect that a child under 19 has been or is likely to be abused or neglected, you have a legal duty to report it.
