The Three Winds Friendship Centre building is up for sale
Ooknakane Friendship Centre shuts down Keremeos branch Published 3:16 pm Friday, July 17, 2026 Almost three years after it opened, the Three Winds Indigenous Friendship Centre in Keremeos has closed down and the building is back on the market. The former Anglican Church building at 607 Fifth Street in Keremeos had opened its doors in fall 2023 as an extension of the Ooknakane Friendship Centre in Penticton.
Black Press Media contacted the Ooknakane Friendship Centre, which confirmed that it wound down its operations at the branch location around April. Costs for operation, a lack of available staff and uptake of the centre’s services led to the closure. Instead, programs and services will continue to be delivered out of the main Penticton location.
