OPP seek witnesses after Leamington crash leads to driver brandishing knife

A 36-year-old from Leamington was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon.

Ontario Provincial Police are asking witnesses to come forward after a two-vehicle collision in Leamington that allegedly escalated when one of the driver’s brandished a knife. Officers responded to a crash on Erie Street South at about 6:30 p.m. on July 8. Police said it was determined through investigation that the accused caused a collision and brandished a knife.

No injuries were reported. A 36-year-old from Leamington was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon; two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm; and dangerous operation. The investigation remains ongoing.
