A woman is dead after being struck by a dump truck in Ajax. Police responded to the collision in the area of Hunt Street and Harwood Avenue South just before 4 p.m. Saturday. Investigators say the truck was making a right hand turn from Harwood Avenue South to Hunt Street when it struck the pedestrian.

Crews attempted life saving measures on the woman, but she was later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
