Plastics Hall of Fame opens nominations for Class of 2027

The Plastics Hall of Fame is accepting nominations through Sept. 30 for its Class of 2027, which will be inducted May 2 in Orlando, Fla., ahead of NPE 2027.

The Plastics Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for its Class of 2027, with inductees to be honored May 2, 2027, in Orlando, Fla., the evening before NPE2027 opens. Nominations are open through Sept. 30 and may be submitted by anyone, including self-nominations. The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose careers have made significant and lasting contributions to the growth of the plastics industry through innovation, leadership and service.

Candidates remain eligible for consideration for two induction cycles, and a limited number of members is selected every 18 months by the organization’s living members following a screening process. Founded in 1972 by Modern Plastics Editor-in-Chief Sid Gross in cooperation with the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc., now the Plastics Industry Association, the Plastics Hall of Fame honors both living and posthumous industry leaders. The inaugural induction ceremony was held during NPE in 1973, and the organization began accepting international nominations in 2004.

Nomination materials include a candidate’s career accomplishments, employment history, patents, publications, volunteer service, presentations and awards. Finalists will be announced in January 2027 ahead of the induction ceremony.
