Police find van stolen from COPE service dogs

This is the second van stolen from the organization and later recovered in just a matter of days.

A van belonging to a service dog charity in Barrie has been recovered after previously being reported as stolen. On Monday, provincial police in Dufferin located the van parked in Shelburne. The van was reported stolen late last week from the parking lot of COPE service dogs located at 80 Bradford Street in Barrie, nearly 70 kilometres away.

This is the second van stolen from the organization and later recovered in just a matter of days. Also last week, the organization had another van stolen that was later found in Orangeville. Police say an investigation is ongoing and no charges have yet been laid.

There is no word yet on the cost of damages, if any, to either van.
