Popular Japanese ramen chain to open fourth Vancouver restaurant this week

Ramen Danbo has opened locations in London and New York, and soon, finally, Vancouver's Main Street. The new location is in the new building at 3982 Main St., in the Riley Park neighbourhood.

Ramen Danbo has opened locations in London and New York, and soon, finally, Vancouver's Main Street. The new location is in the new building at 3982 Main St., in the Riley Park neighbourhood. A soft opening is planned for July 15, with a grand opening a week later on July 23.

It's the local chain's fourth Vancouver location, after spots in Kitsilano, Kerrisdale, and on Robson Street downtown. For the soft opening, the new location will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily until July 21. On July 23 it'll open at 11 a.m.

Originally from Japan, Danbo's first locations outside the island nation were in Vancouver, when the Kits location opened in 2015. They've gone on to open locations in Seattle, New York City, and London. Danbo is known for its Fukuoka-style tonkotsu (pork broth) ramen crafted in the Kyushu Hakata style, served with thin noodles.

The Vancouver locations have become popular, with lines occasionally spilling out onto the street.
