Pure Country Care-A-Thon raises $136K for Maison McCulloch Hospice

Sudbury's seventh annual Care-A-Thon raised $136,000 for Maison McCulloch Hospice, surpassing its goal during a six-hour broadcast on Pure Country 91.7.

The team at Pure Country 91.7 is celebrating after the Sudbury community rallied to raise $136,000 during the seventh annual Care-A-Thon in support of Maison McCulloch Hospice . The funds were raised during a six-hour broadcast on July 16 from the radio station’s studio on Frood Road, with morning show hosts Josh and Coop joining the hospice’s executive director Julie Aubé on-air. A team at the hospice fielded phone calls from donors throughout the morning.

This year’s event built on the momentum of last year’s Care-A-Thon, which pushed the fundraiser past the $1 million threshold in total giving over its previous six-year history. Want more Sudbury-area news? Check out its local news page.

Care provided at no charge Maison McCulloch Hospice provides end-of-life care at no cost to patients and their families. The facility has 20 beds at its Bethel Lake site and offers additional programs and services beyond its walls. More than 2,500 people have spent their final days at the hospice.

Executive director expresses gratitude “Sudbury’s generosity year after year after year continues to warm our heart. It’s like a heated blanket around us, our hospice. It’s such a privilege to live here and to serve people in this community,” said Aubé during the broadcast on July 16.
