Regina police have charged a 19-year-old following an assault and disturbance at a Regina residence.

Regina police have charged a 19-year-old following an assault and disturbance at a Regina home. Officers were called to a home shortly after midnight on July 13 on the 4700 block of Pasqua Street for a reported disturbance. The Aerial Support Unit responded and the Tactical Flight Officer was able to get a visual on the suspect who appeared to be kicking the front door.

Police say the suspect fled from the scene when officers arrived but was later taken into custody by members of the Regina Police Service Canine Unit with assistance from a Police Service Dog. The suspect was taken to hospital for treatment of a dog bite. Investigators say the suspect had assaulted a man at the residence earlier in the evening before returning later that night.

Both the suspect and victim know each other. The 19-year-old has been charged with assault, resisting arrest, failing to comply with conditions of undertaking and failure to comply with a probation order. He made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on July 13.
