It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing at Maison McCulloch Hospice on July 8, 2026 at the age of 73 years. Predeceased by his parents Philipe and Jeanne D’Arc Riopel (née Gervais), and his siblings Gilberte Vincent (late Marcel), Robert Riopel (Yolande), Georgette Lafrenière (late Conrad), and Richard Riopel (Rose Mary). Dear brother to Madeleine Chrétien (late Léon).

Beloved father to Nolan Foley (Jill) of Cobble Hill BC and Cole Foley (Addie) of Victoria BC. Grandfather to Oliver Foley. Claude resided in Calgary, Alberta for approximately 40 years and is a retiree of Air Canada.

He leaves close friends in Calgary and Tamarindo, Puerto Rico where he spent many wonderful winter holidays. As per Claude’s wishes there will be no visitation and a family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque or online to the Maison McCulloch Hospice.

We also thank all the doctors, nurses, and personal care workers who kindly looked after Claude during his time of suffering. Funeral arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
