Rising component prices have already hit the smartphone industry hard. Now, Samsung is raising repair prices for its phones due to rising semiconductor costs. While the company has not yet officially increased repair charges for customers, it has reportedly raised the prices of repair parts supplied to its service network for the second time in 2026.

The updated costs may soon be passed on to the customers. Samsung increases its phone repair prices globally As per the latest report, Samsung has once again hiked the prices of its spare components for its service network. The company had earlier increased the prices back in January.

The second price adjustment follows the increasing semiconductor and raw material costs. Strong demand for GPUs and other components by AI companies has created a supply constraint globally. This led semiconductor firms to hike the prices of their components and subsequently added pressure on companies that rely on these components for smartphones, tablets, and other consumer electronics.

Samsung‘s Mobile eXperience (MX) division, which includes Galaxy smartphones and tablets, recorded an average material cost increase of around 5%. The Digital Appliances (DA) division saw an even bigger rise, of about 9%. This affects key parts such as motors, compressors, panels, and other components used in products like washing machines and air conditioners.

Samsung’s Visual Display (VD) division, which handles televisions, was not affected much because its component costs reportedly remained close to those of competing brands. Consumers won’t face an immediate hike yet The company follows a thorough process before passing on the updated prices to consumers.

First, Samsung will review repair part prices by comparing its production costs with those of other manufacturers. After competitors raise the cost of their repair components, the company will also update its own pricing to stay in line with the market. Since replacement parts account for roughly 80 to 90% of the total cost of most repairs, even a modest increase in component prices can eventually affect service charges.

For now, Samsung has not announced a price increase for customers, and repair fees remain unchanged. However, if semiconductor prices continue to rise through the rest of the year, service costs could gradually move higher as well.
