A slate of candidates for Saanich Mayor and council is gearing up their campaign now toward the fall election. The Save Our Saanich team will host a public town hall this Wednesday, July 15, at Greek Community Hall, 4648 Elk Lake Drive (near Saanich Commonwealth Place. Doors open at 6 pm, event starts at 7 pm.

The mayoral candidate is Rishi Sharma. Council candidates on the website are Lorne DeLarge, Matt McGeachie and Graham Wright. As well, according to candidate Sharma today, two more candidates will include Nancy Dicastri and Laurie Lidstone.

The event promo header is “It is time for change”. People are invited to hear the team “that will restore balance to Saanich”. They list their priorities as responsible spending, protected greenspace, smart development, transparent decision-making, and efficient roads.

There will be a public presentation followed by Q&A. Election in October: The municipal election (across the entire province) is on October 17, 2026. So far there are two other Saanich mayoral candidates: Zac de Vries and Karen Harper.
