journal titled ‘The Fresh Ink Collective” publishing writing from high-schoolers ages 12 to 18 all across the Island and certain parts of the mainland. “It’s such a dream to see how The Inky Pen has been impacting the Island,” said Oldfield. That impact will soon reach further as Oldfield says that for Volume 3, and onward, the literary journal will accept submissions from anyone in that age group who are attending a school in Canada, which includes those learning at home. “I’m hoping this encourages those at Canadian boarding schools to send in writing, even if the place they call home is outside of the country,” said Oldfield. Putting pen to paper is Oldfield’s passion. An active creative writer, she’s been crafting stories since she was little; it was her dream to have her stories published.
