March 15, 1951 – July 9, 2026 It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon “Lyle” Speirs announces his passing on July 9, 2026, at the age of 75.

March 15, 1951 – July 9, 2026 It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon “Lyle” Speirs announces his passing on July 9, 2026, at the age of 75. Lyle is survived by his beloved wife, Monique Speirs (née Landry); his son, Gordon “Danny” Speirs; his daughter-in-law, Miki Speirs (née Kobayashi); and his grandchildren, Bijou Speirs and Anson Speirs.

He was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Tracy Lynn Baxter (née Speirs). Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his son-in-law, William “Lee” Baxter; his grandchildren, Valerie Filippetto (née Speirs), Brendan Kroft and Hailey Kroft; and his step-grandchildren, Alexandra Baxter and Everett Baxter. Known as a gentle giant, Lyle had a contagious smile and a powerful laugh that could fill any room.

He was devoted to his family and went out of his way to bring happiness to the people he loved. His warmth, kindness and generous spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Lyle will also be greatly missed by his fellow INCO retirees, his many friends at Sportsman's Tent & Trailer Park, his neighbours and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Lyle valued friendship, community and the lasting bonds he formed throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and everyone whose life he touched. A celebration of Lyle’s life will be announced at a later date.
