Stranded driver rescued north of Harrison Lake after more than 2 days Published 8:46 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026 The Agassiz RCMP assisted a stranded motorist who had been stuck in a remote area near Harrison Lake for two days. According to the latest weekly snapshot from the local RCMP, Agassiz officers responded to an SOS notification in a remote area north of Harrison Lake.

The driver had been involved in a single-vehicle collision and was hurt. They had been stranded for more than two days and were running out of food and water. Kent-Harrison Search and Rescue assisted in transporting the motorist out of the area.

Though they had sustained injuries, they were assessed by medics and determined to be in good condition. A separate SOS call came in the same week, also north of Harrison Lake, where several occupants of a vehicle were stranded due to a flat tire. Agassiz RCMP officers were not able to reach them due to the remote location of the SOS call, but they called in assistance from a neighbouring jurisdiction. ”

Between July 6 and 12, the Agassiz RCMP responded to 80 calls for service, including three property crimes and six crimes against persons. These calls included the following: – The Agassiz RCMP responded to an abandoned 911 call from Rockwell Drive north of Harrison Hot Springs.

Dispatchers could hear sounds of fighting and shouting in the background. Officers identified two intoxicated men involved in an altercation. No injuries were reported, no charges were pursued and both men left the area safely without further incident.

– Agassiz RCMP received a report of a vehicle striking two parked vehicles on Pioneer Avenue in Agassiz. Officers found the suspect vehicle later on Heath Road and spoke with the driver, who showed signs of impairment.

The driver failed a roadside test and was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. A ticket was also issued for failing to remain at the scene of a collision. The vehicle was impounded.

– Officers responded to reports of several intoxicated people that appeared to have fallen asleep in a vehicle at a gas station on Yale Road. Paramedics determined the people in question were in good health; officers spoke to the driver, who showed signs of impairment. Police later determined that the driver was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and the driver was arrested.

The driver will appear in court at a later date.
