Police are searching for a suspect after a series of stabbings in Hamilton on Monday sent four people to the hospital. The incidents happened in the areas of King and James streets, and the MacNab Street Transit Terminal. Hamilton Police said they responded to several reports of stabbings just after 2:10 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbings are unclear at this time, but police said four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. On Tuesday, police identified the suspect as Oscar Ayala, of no fixed address, who is wanted on four counts of assault with a weapon. Police are asking anyone who sees Ayala to call them immediately, and avoid approaching him.

Investigators are asking witnesses or anyone with footage from the downtown core between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to contact them.
