The Samsung Galaxy Watch series as well as the Galaxy Fit 3, Samsung’s most recent wrist-worn fitness tracker, has started to end up with the dreaded green line that’s shown up on some smartphones. The green line is reportedly not showing up for all Galaxy Watch models, but it is said to be happening on at least the Galaxy Watch 4. There’s a possibility it’s happening on other Galaxy Watch models as well, but so far reports seem to be pointing to the 4th generation watch only.

In addition to the watch, at least one user on Reddit has reported the problem happening on their Galaxy Fit 3. One notable different worth mentioning is that the Galaxy Fit 3 is said to be just about 2 years old, while the Galaxy Watch 4 models having this problem are reportedly much older. The Galaxy Watch series green line issues are surfacing after updating to One UI 8 Watch In the case of the Galaxy Watch 4 that’s having these issues, it seems the green line problem started surfacing once people updated their watches to One UI 8 Watch.

The user who reported the issue states it only showed up after the 8.0 update. Another user, however, has also pointed out that the watch may have moisture damage, and that that could have been a factor in this issue surfacing. In the case of the Galaxy Fit 3, the user who reported the issue says that it worked fine for about 2 years, then one day the tracker’s display just shut off and wouldn’t turn back on for a few days.

After that period of time, they were able to get the screen back on, but the green line was now visible. It doesn’t look like Samsung has acknowledged or responded to these reported issues. It’s also unclear how widespread the problem is at the moment.
