The Windsor Police Service has laid three impaired driving charges over the weekend. On Friday just after 7:30 p.m., the Canada Border Services Agency stopped a woman who they said was showing signs of impairment at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel. They said she had bloodshot eyes, appeared disoriented, and her breath smelled of alcohol.

She was taken to the Windsor Police headquarters and reportedly failed a breath test. The 38-year-old woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or exceeding 80 milligrams. The second incident took place on Saturday around 5:30 p.m.

WPS officers were called with a report of a crash in the 500 block of Pierre Avenue. Officers said the driver swerved and hit another vehicle before they hit a utility pole. Two kids were in the vehicle.

When officers spoke to the driver, they said they were showing signs of impairment. A 42-year-old man is facing a charge of operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or exceeding 80 milligrams. On Sunday around midnight, police said they saw a vehicle driving the wrong way on a one-way section of Chatham Street East.

During the traffic stop, officers said the driver was showing signs of impairment. He was arrested and reportedly failed a breath test. A 29-year-old man is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or exceeding 80 milligrams.
