Three men face more than 50 charges after shooting at west Windsor home

Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on York Street leading to the arrest of the young men.

Four people were inside a west Windsor home when multiple shots were fired early Sunday, leading police to arrest three men and seize two handguns. Officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. on July 12 to a report of gunshots in the 300 block of Partington Avenue. When officers arrived, they located spent shell casings on the roadway.

A preliminary investigation determined occupants of a white sedan approached the residence and fired multiple shots, police said. No injuries were reported. Through the investigation, officers located the vehicle and conducted a “high-risk traffic stop” in the 2200 block of York Street shortly before 4:30 a.m.

The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of three men, ages 20, 22 and 20. Police said a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of two handguns. One handgun was loaded with an extended magazine, while the second handgun was unloaded.

The driver of the vehicle was also arrested for impaired driving. Police said all three men have been charged with: • Discharging a firearm • Two counts of occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm • Possession of a firearm with a removed serial number • Possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number •

Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace • Possession of a loaded regulated firearm, namely a handgun • Possession of an unloaded regulated firearm, namely a handgun • Two counts of possession of a firearm without holding a licence • Two counts of careless handling/storage of a firearm One of the 20-year-old men faces additional charges of two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited; two counts of possession of a prohibited device while prohibited, namely a magazine; two counts of breach of probation by failing to comply with a condition not to possess any weapons; two counts of possession of a prohibited device without authority; and six counts of disobey lawful court order not to possess any weapons.

The second suspect, 22, was also charged with two counts of unlicensed person in possession of a prohibited weapon. The other 20-year-old man has also been charged with two counts of unlicensed person in possession of a prohibited weapon, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 mg. The investigation remains ongoing.
