At 5:54 p.m., Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a warning for areas near the communities of Cadomin and Robb.
“Meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado,” the weather agency said in an Alberta Emergency Alert. “Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. “Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Wolf Lake, Cynthia, Brazeau Dam, Cadomin, Robb and Chungo Creek.
“This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado.” ECCC said people should take cover immediately if severe weather approaches.
