The new fires, located north of Highway 1 just west of Kamloops Lake, have been recently posted on the BC Wildfire Service's fire map Friday. Both fires are listed as spot sized at this time.
The fire to the west is believed to be started by lightning, while the other fire's cause is still under investigation according to the BCWS. Four firefighters and one helicopter are responding to both fires at this time.
