Google-owned popular GPS navigation app, Waze, has introduced a huge update, which offers drivers more control over how they travel. The latest update brings five much-anticipated features, which Waze has designed to make getting around easier and safer. The update brings features like new Gemini AI tools, a motorcycle mode, and a “less chatty” mode.

The Motorcycle mode offers safer navigation for two-wheelers Two-wheeler riders usually require different directions than car drivers. Waze’s new Motorcycle mode utilizes artificial intelligence-powered routing, which offers specific paths and restrictions for two-wheelers. The mode uses data and map editors to display hazards like raised crosswalks and narrow bridges, which usually impact two-wheelers.

Notably, the new Motorcycle mode in Waze also highlights shortcuts, which allow riders to make faster trips. This functionality is currently live for users who live in regions like Brazil and Mexico. The new “less chatty” mode offers fewer voice instructions and personalized routes Waze’s new “less chatty” mode is for those users who just want to hear their music or podcasts without constant direction prompts cutting in.

This feature reduces how often it produces voice prompts. However, the users will still get essential warning-related prompts about turns and hazards, but in a more brief form than before. After the new update, the Waze app also learns from your previous trips.

For example, you usually pick highways over street roads, and the app will suggest those routes first. It’s worth mentioning that you can switch this feature off in the settings if you already prefer the current directions. You can now talk to the app to report route updates and find places Waze’s latest update brings some notable new Gemini AI features.

First, you can now use your voice to report any map-related issues. For example, if you see a closed route, then tell the app, and it’ll alert local editors to verify the change. Additionally, you can now also ask the app to find specific places.

Instead of typing, you can press the voice button and ask for an open coffee shop or a gas station with cheap gas. It’ll show options that you can navigate to immediately. As of now, most of the new features in the Waze app are available in regions like Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, and the Philippines.

The company plans to release the same in more countries soon. The post Waze’s Update Adds New Gemini AI Features and Customization Options appeared first on Android Headlines .
