Stolen content on X has become a pretty significant issue since the creator revenue program was introduced. While content thieves existed long before you could make money directly from your posts on the social media platform, these types of stolen posts became a much more prominent issue after it was possible to make real money from content directly on the site. Many of these types of posts that contain stolen content belong to bots, though not all of them.

Now, X is making a series of changes that are aimed at curbing stolen content. The overall goal is to stop people from abusing the creator revenue program, so as to ensure that people who post original content are the ones benefiting from it. X is cracking down on solicited engagement in addition to stolen content X isn’t just trying to reduce or eliminate the amount of stolen content, it’s also cracking down on solicited engagement.

As reported by TechCrunch, X’s Nikita Bier, who is Head of Product at the company, says that anyone who solicits engagement three or more times will be removed from the creator revenue program. Additionally, Bier states that Grok is now capable of identifying content that’s been duplicated three times faster than previous Grok models. Making all the more difficult for people to try and steal content from other users.

While this isn’t a foolproof resolution, as some will likely find ways around it in due time, it’s a start to what has been a growing issue since creator revenue was introduced. On July 16, Bier also stated that as part of the changes made to combat stolen content, over 4,000 accounts were removed from the program. This, Bier says, will help lead to giving over $1 Million back to original content creators.
