Several people were taken to hospital after a vehicle collided with a moose on Highway 9. It happened roughly six kilometres north of the town on Saturday at about 2:20 a.m., according to the Whitewood Fire Department. “The collision caused extensive damage to the car, which came to a stop several hundred feet off the highway in a field,” read a social media post from the fire department.

“All four occupants were transported to hospital with various injuries.” The RCMP were dispatched along with ambulances from Grenfell and Moosomin. Whitewood is about 115 kilometres south of Yorkton.
