BIXI is expanding to Vaudreuil-Dorion next summer

BIXI’s bike-sharing service is coming to the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion in the summer of 2027.

BIXI’s bike-sharing service is coming to the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion in the summer of 2027. Plans call for the installation of 10 stations, offering 110 bicycles, half of them electric. According to the city, the station locations have not been finalized and are being studied to ensure they best serve the city’s main areas and major transportation hubs.

The station locations, along with additional details about the service, will be announced before the launch. The project received $440,000 in financial assistance through the Quebec government’s 2025-2026 Financial Assistance Program for the Development of Active Transportation in Urban Areas. The funding covers part of the project’s $1,102,717 equipment acquisition cost.

“The launch of the BIXI project marks a new step in the development of our active transportation network,” said Mayor Paul Dumoulin. “This service will offer a convenient and flexible travel option, while promoting intermodal travel with public transit. Our goal is to make daily commutes even simpler and more efficient for residents.”

Improving public transit, city says The city says this project represents its commitment to improving public transit for residents. BIXI currently operates more than 13,000 bicycles, including 3,500 electric bikes, at 1,180 stations. The service is available in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, Sherbrooke, Westmount, Ville Mont-Royal, Montréal-Est, Boucherville, Sainte-Julie, Saint-Lambert, Chambly, Terrebonne, Saint-Eustache and Deux-Montagnes.

The city of Dorval recently announced BIXI bike-sharing service will also be available to its residents.
