Source York Regional Police have charged a 31-year-old Brampton man with eight offences in connection with an ongoing human-trafficking investigation in Vaughan. In July, officers were conducting a proactive human-trafficking probe at a hotel in the area of Applewood Cres. and Portage Pkwy. when they identified a victim alleged to be a child in need of protection. Through the investigation, police alleged that the victim, who was under the age of 18, was being trafficked for sexual services. It’s alleged the suspect had taken photographs of the victim and used them in online s promoting sexual services and controlled the s, arranged appointments with clients on the victim’s behalf, received proceeds from the exploitation and transported the victim to multiple jurisdictions.
