Many voters took the opportunity to cast advance ballots in the District 16 Cornwall-Meadowbank byelection set for July 13. Elections P.E.I reports that 34.7 per cent of the 4,695 eligible voters availed themselves of the option, which represents 1,629 ballots cast as of July 10. Electors who received a mail-in ballot have until noon on July 13 to complete their ballot packages and return them to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

Related Ordinary polling day voting takes place Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the APM Centre, 35 Mercedes Drive, Cornwall. Elections P.E.I. is expected to start releasing counts as of 7:30 p.m. on election night. The four candidates vying for the seat were Caley McDonald for the Progressive Conservatives (PC), Robert Mitchell for the Liberals, Craig Nash for the NDP and Tayte Willows for the Green party.
