The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts is expanding its 2026-27 season with a fresh slate of literary conversations, classical performances and jazz tributes, bringing a mix of internationally acclaimed artists and celebrated Canadian voices to Vancouver.

Book lovers have plenty to look forward to this season. Coates returns to the Chan Centre following a sold-out Vancouver appearance in 2020 for a discussion exploring history, identity and contemporary culture. Physician and bestselling author Gabor Maté will take the stage to discuss trauma, addiction and healing, while acclaimed poet and novelist Ocean Vuong will make his first Vancouver appearance, speaking about his celebrated body of work. Classical music also plays a prominent role in the expanded lineup.
