CVRD seeks applicants to work elections in October Published 11:45 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026 The Cowichan Valley Regional District is seeking applicants to work as election officials for the upcoming General Local Election on Oct. 17, 2026 and advance voting days Oct. 7 and 13, 2026. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a returning worker, helping deliver a fair and accessible election is a rewarding and impactful experience, states the CVRD in a press release.

Election officials are responsible for supporting voting opportunities in accordance with the Local Government Act and related election legislation. Duties include assisting electors, verifying eligibility, issuing ballots and ensuring voting is conducted fairly, efficiently and impartially. Applicants must be 16 years old or older, eligible to work in Canada, available on their scheduled day and must remain politically neutral and not publicly support candidates.

Positions include presiding election official, alternate presiding election official and election official. To apply, submit an application to election@cvrd.bc.ca; applications are due by 4 p.m. on Aug. 14, 2026.
