Downtown Windsor celebrates World Cup with FIFA

Soccer enthusiasts braved intense heat and poor air quality on Wednesday to celebrate the World Cup in downtown Windsor. The sanctioned FIFA event at City Hall Square featured soccer-themed activities, photo opportunities, and a big outdoor screen playing a semi-final match between England and Argentina. It ran from noon to 8 p.m. and included live music, food vendors, a beer garden, and more.

The City of Vaughan cancelled a FIFA World Cup event scheduled at a park in that city on Wednesday over an air quality warning from Environment Canada.
