Elora’s Longest BBQ returns July 28

Last year's event attracted more than 12,000 people

ELORA – West Mill Street here will once again host Elora’s Longest BBQ on July 28, bringing together more than 20 restaurants, food vendors and beverage producers for an evening celebrating Canadian food and community. The free, all-ages street party serves as the official launch event of Food Day Canada 2026 and honours the late Anita Stewart , an author, food laureate and founder of Food Day Canada. Following a 2025 event that drew more than 12,000 guests, organizers are expecting another large turnout.

The event will feature additional chefs, beverage partners and a new Farm to Fork Discovery Education Zone, which will provide families with an opportunity to learn more about where their food comes from. “This event captures the essence of Food Day Canada,” stated Jeff Stewart, executive director of Food Day Canada. “It’s about celebrating Canadian ingredients, the people who grow, harvest and prepare them, and the joy of gathering at a shared table.
