You have placed your trust in me six times, and I have never taken that trust for granted,” Bonnardel wrote. First elected an MNA in 2008 as a member of Action démocratique with a slim margin of only 70 votes, Bonnardel’s party merged into the newly-formed CAQ in 2012 and he won every election since by a margin of at least 50 per cent of the vote. “I have always carried out my duties with humility, loyalty, and a deep respect for the role entrusted to me by the people.

Throughout all these years, I have strived to make you proud and to give my very best,” the MNA stated. “The journey hasn’t been perfect, but I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished together for Granby and for our entire region. To everyone I’ve worked alongside over the years—and there are many of you—I want to say a huge and sincere THANK YOU.
