Samsung is gearing up to unveil its next-gen foldables on July 22nd, i.e., next week. We’ll be witnessing the unveiling of the brand’s first wide-screen foldable, alongside the usual lineup and two new smartwatches. Amidst all this, the South Korean tech giant has now pushed the July 2026 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.

These address 57 security vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the OS. Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 are receiving the July 2026 security update Samsung is apparently rolling out the updates in various regions, including Africa, Asia, and Europe. So it’s a wide rollout at the moment.

The update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 carries the firmware version F956BXXS4DZF1, and that for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 carries version F741BXXS4DZF1. The download size might vary depending on the region. If you don’t see an update prompt, you can check for it manually by heading to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

Hit Download and install to complete the installation process. But if there are no updates, be patient and wait for a few days, as they usually roll out in stages. Rolling out widely As said, Samsung’s July 2026 update brings fixes to 57 security vulnerabilities.

Among them, 41 of those come from Google, while 16 are from Samsung directly. Of the total fixes, 5 are marked critical, 42 of them are high-security, and 7 are moderate-severity. Since it’s a matter of security, it’s essential that you install this as and when it’s made available in your region.

That said, don’t go expecting any new features, as this just focuses on security. For that, though, there’s One UI 9, which these foldables will be getting down the lane. This is Samsung’s next major OS upgrade that’s based on Android 17.

It’ll debut officially next week on the new foldables. One UI 9 will bring new features focused on productivity and accessibility. The update will gradually roll out to older models.
