Illinois American Water donates $20K to Streator tornado recovery fund

Illinois American Water has donated $20,000 to the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation’s Streator Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund to support residents and recovery efforts following the June 11 tornado.

Streator’s tornado recovery effort received a big boost this week in the form of a $20,000 donation from Illinois America Water. The water utility company specifically donated to the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation’s Streator Disaster Relief Fund following the June 11 tornado. The disaster relief fund was set up by the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation last month to assist recovery efforts after the tornado damage.

City officials thanked Illinois American Water for its contribution and made sure to recognize the ongoing support of local organizations, businesses and community leaders involved in the effort. “This generous donation reflects Illinois American Water’s commitment to the communities it serves,” Mayor Tara Bedei said in a statement. “The support of partners like this and the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation helps ensure that our residents have the resources they need as Streator continues its recovery.”
