‘Immediately stop using’: Toaster oven recalled with refund available

More than 13,600 units of the Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Oven are being pulled from shelves due to an issue with the power cord.

Thousands of toaster ovens in Canada and the U.S. are being recalled due to an electric shock risk. In a joint recall issued Thursday between Health Canada , the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Panasonic Canada Inc. , more than 13,600 units of the Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Oven are being pulled from shelves due to an issue with the power cord. “The power cord insulation may be insufficient due to a protective fiberglass sleeve not covering it adequately, which poses an electrical shock hazard to consumers,” the recalled said.

While no injuries have been reported between the two countries, five instances of circuit breaker tripping incidents involving the U.S. model have been reported. “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to Panasonic Canada Inc. for a refund,” the recall notice said. Between November 2025 and March 2026, the company says 2,184 units were sold in Canada, and about 11,500 in the United States.

All toaster ovens were manufactured in Canada. The product can be identified by its model numbers, NB-G2055 and NB-G200SVA, or its stainless steel trim and double infrared heating feature. There’s also a company website. It is illegal to give away, sell or otherwise redistribute recalled products according to the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, the notice says. .
