A 27-year-old man was arrested after his SUV was seen swerving into oncoming traffic in Guelph.
Guelph Police say a man was caught driving with more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system before noon on Thursday. A grey SUV was seen swerving into oncoming traffic and almost hitting the curb several times near Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road South. When officers pulled the driver over, they noticed he smelled like alcohol and showed signs of impairment.
Police said the driver failed a roadside test. He was then taken to the police station where tests showed he was more than three times over the legal limit. The 27-year-old was charged with impaired driving.
His license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving, which police said belonged to his father, was impounded for seven days.
