(Hayder Mahdy, CityNews) Thousands of soccer fans, Montrealers and visitors are expected to gather for the live broadcast of the championship match, which kicks off at 3 p.m. Multiple giant screens will be set up throughout the site to provide clear viewing, while bars, food concessions, roaming vendors, water stations and additional washrooms will be available. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with a DJ and Just For Laughs entertainment, following the opening of the site and concessions at noon.

Festival organizers say the event is designed to bring the community together around one of the world’s biggest sporting events. Players from CF Montréal and Montréal Roses, along with several Just For Laughs performers, are expected to attend, creating a unique mix of sports, comedy and culture in the Quartier des spectacles.
